In an effort to outrank Kyle Patrick Dickherber of the Click 5 (my arch nemesis) in Google, I will constantly be referring to myself in the 3rd person. Probably not constantly, but it certainly makes me, Kyle Patrick, feel better to know that he will never defeat me.
I’ve been listening to this band for like 2 months straight. For some reason I always gravitate towards bands with female/higher-pitched vocalists – Eisley, Mew, Circa Survive, Camera Obscura. My friend Rachel sent me one or two of their songs and I have been hooked. They are extremely retro-sounding without being that pretentious garbage you see on MTV, which is probably Kyle Patrick’s favorite media outlet – the other Kyle Patrick.
Watching a Camera Obscura video is like watching Mad Men if it were happy, kind, and full of music other than Zou Bisou Bisou. When people try to paint a picture of how happy they imagine the 60s to be, I feel like Camera Obscura does it quite nicely. The music and some of their videos remind me of Amelie.
Also this band is Scottish, and although I am Irish, I can respect that.
